HYPED UP LIVE SESSIONS – Sky Covington
May 19, 2020 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Tony “T-Money” Green, a Detroit bassist, songwriter, producer, arranger, and owner of Hyped International Records is proud to present a very special edition of HYPED UP LIVE SESSIONS. The May 19th live stream concert will be dedicated to Legendary Jazz Bassman Will Austin, Tony’s father, who passed at the end of April, and will feature the incredible songstress Sky Covington.
In its third year of production, Hyped Up Live Sessions is T-Money’s way to keep the music flowing and feature all the amazing talent in Detroit, the folks that make a living from music some way, somehow, in all “kinds of times” because it is in their DNA. Sky Covington certainly follows this model, coming to be known as a Jazz Ambassador, taking up the mission to keep the standards and history of jazz alive. “Jazz is my gospel music,” she explains, “it is what I need to do. It fills me.” And being filled with jazz gives her the drive and motivation to reach out into her community working closely with Representative Isaac Robinson to create Detroit Hug Day, eight years ago. The city lost Mr. Robinson shortly after the last Hug Detroit Spirit Awards that highlights the super Detroit spirits, fans, artists, and supporters that supported Detroit’s vision of giving, teaching, and promoting positive light all year long. Following her performance Sky will talk with T-Money about her civic work and what that might look like moving forward.
HYPED UP LIVE SESSIONS goes live on Facebook and YouTube, Tuesday, May 19 @ 8p. Just go to Facebook App or watch on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXPNekuI5qUP9dmSVx6DKYA
