Gasoline Gypsies Virtual Benefit Show for Kids’ Food Basket

Kids’ Food Basket is facing unprecedented challenges in meeting the demand to help nourish children in west Michigan, the Gasoline Gypsies are very honored to offer support in the form of a special livestream benefit performance from the KFB Facebook page on Thursday June 18 at 6:00 pm, We hope you will tune in and join the party! One year ago in June, the Gypsies spent a very magical, memorable weekend in downtown Allegan, headlining the Rolling on the Riverfront concert series…as it’s not possible to return in person this summer, the band is thrilled to at least be able to visit with local fans virtually, in support of Kids Food Basket!
Kids Food Basket will also be hosting one of their virtual Lunch & Learn events on the same day, Thursday June 18 at Noon. Please RSVP to Evan.Pazkowski@kidsfoodbasket.org if you want to attend the virtual Lunch & Learn. The Gasoline Gypsies’ performance will benefit the Feeding Out Future Expansion campaign for the Ottawa & Allegan location of Kids’ Food Basket. Before the spread of COVID-19, the Ottawa & Allegan Kids’ Food Basket was serving roughly 1,100 nutritious, ready-to-eat meals each day. Despite serving 7 schools, Kids’ Food Basket is only meeting about 10% of the need in the area, with an estimated 11,120 kids who suffer from food insecurity. However, the current need is too high for the current facility located in the back of Peace Lutheran Church, where the organization is at program capacity. To combat the urgent need, Kids’ Food Basket is moving to a larger facility which will help take 5 schools off the immediate wait list.
