The Traverse City Dance Project & The Accidentals are teaming up for the TCDP No-Distance Festival – Dance the Vote Edition! This virtual performance will include the premiere of The Accidentals “How Many Hands” music video to highlight the importance of unity and voting in these times. The program directed by Executive & Co-Artistic Director of TCDP, Brent Whitney with music by The Accidentals, will involve dancers from around the country in companies including: Dance Theatre of Harlem, New York City Ballet, Ballet Hispanico, and San Francisco Ballet among many more. Other choreographers on the program include Lenai Wilkerson of Ballet Hispanico, Rachel Walton, an LA based freelance dancer, and Rachel Malehorn who is a former dancer with Milwaukee Ballet. In addition to inspiring music and dance, we are teaming up with activist Jennifer Turner and the organization Headcount to register voters! Contributions raised will be distributed to the participating artists, the organization Headcount, and to fund the TCDP No-Distance festival.
About the No-Distance Festival
The Traverse City Dance Project is proud to present the No-Distance Festival, an online music and dance festival in support of artists during this unprecedented crisis. Curators Jennifer McQuiston Lott and Hajnal Pivnick have assembled and commissioned teams of choreographers and composers to create together from the safety of their homes. The festival is an ongoing celebration of artistic creativity under extreme limitations.
