The Rockit King, Natural Child, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Pimps of Joytime: Weekend Photo Gallery (Nov. 13-16)

Fans came out in droves for hip-hop legends and a rock-fueled CD-release show, with plenty more on the docket across West Michigan, all captured in images at Local Spins.

Before the weather REALLY turned wintry and nasty, West Michigan managed to celebrate some powerfully good concerts by national and local acts, starting with a Wednesday flurry that featured My Brightest Diamond at Wealthy Theatre, Chuck Prophet at Tip Top Deluxe Bar & Grill, and The Crane Wives Trio with the Max Lockwood Sextet at SpeakEZ Lounge (the first in a series of Local Spins Wednesdays at SpeakEZ Lounge shows). But that was the just beginning as the Local Spins Weekend Photo Gallery proves, with:

• The reunited Bone Thugs-n-Harmony unleashing their hip-hop harmony at The Intersection on Thursday;

• Brooklyn’s five-piece Pimps of Joytime uncorking a set of soul, blues, rock and funk at Founders Brewing the same night;

• Jazz trumpet player Brad Fritcher — who played Mexicains Sans Frontieres on Friday night — joining bandmate and pianist Dutcher Snedeker earlier in the day to perform live on the air during Local Spins on WYCE;

• West Michigan Celtic faves An Dro delivering acoustic charm as part of the Friday night MAJIC Concert Series at Bethlehem Lutheran Church;

• Natural Child and Heaters turning up the volume at The Pyramid Scheme the same night;

• Grand Rapids hard rock band The Rockit King revving up the CD-release show on Saturday for its new album, “Truth Will Set You Free,” at The Pyramid Scheme, with Deadwood Stone and Jim Shaneberger also on the bill.
