Every concert venue, every stage has a different vibe, a different look, a different sound, sparking wildly different reactions from audiences.
That certainly is evident even in photos shared this weekend at Spins On Music, with dramatic variations in the musical milieu around Grand Rapids: from the grandeur of St. Cecilia Music Center’s Royce Auditorium in hosting the first-ever Local Spins Live Contemporary Folk Series show with a half-dozen respected Michigan singer-songwriters to the ear-splitting metal cranked out by contestants in the Heavyweight Championship of Rock at The Intersection to the twangy country of The Jukejoint Handmedowns in the sanctuary of Bethlehem Lutheran Church to the jam-packed, sold-out confines of The Pyramid Scheme hosting hometown post-hardcore heroes La Dispute to the bevy of rootsy bands playing Saturday’s day-long Winter Wheat benefit for the Wheatland Music Organization on two stages at The Intersection.
