Festival-goers settled in on the second day of the four-day event in Rothbury, showing off peacock-like attire (or lack of attire) and reveling in the first set by the beloved String Cheese Incident.
With the sun smiling yet again on Double JJ Resort in Rothbury, the second day of the Electric Forest festival trotted out some big names on the big stages.

There was STS9, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Umphrey’s McGee (for the second night in a row) and, of course, the beloved “house band,” The String Cheese Incident, which draws Cheese-heads from across the land.
“After this weekend, I’ll be at 60,” a 22-year-old fan from Kansas said of the number of times he’s seen the band perform. “They genuinely just throw it back at you.”
And they’ll “throw it back” again in extended sets tonight and again Sunday on the Ranch Arena Stage.
But for Electric Forest diehards, this weekend extravaganza in the woods with 35,000 pals is just as much about the unbridled, unparalleled experience and festival fashion as it is about the music, from the bizarre and inspired clothing (or lack of clothing), to the inventive totems and signs they carry, to the gangs of towering creatures on stilts, to the annual quest for Carl — an imaginary fellow that in past years inspired “Where’s Carl?” caterwauling, and this year, just shouted pleas of “Carl?”
Signs and slogans range from “This is Real Life” to “The Turnip is Real” to “F— Real Life” to “Just Live.”
And when it comes to wildly adorned totems carried by groups to identify themselves, there’s everything from Woody Harrelson and Steve Carell on a stick to furry animals, LED-festooned placards and various sports-themed logos, Buckeyes to Red Wings.
And there was the stark naked fellow — with just shoes and a backback next to him — who was enjoying his Electric Forest experience in the buff, pretty much ignored by passersby.

Make sure you don’t have a pop-up blocker on. That’s the only issue that I’ve heard about. Let me know.
Oh hey, white people dressed in the ceremonial headgear of Native Americans. I’ll bet their drug fueled spiritual journey was dope and not at all stupid.
