As this year’s Electric Forest enters its third day in Rothbury, Local Spins looks at the cycle of festival hoopla — from morning yoga and lounging in the sunshine to partying in Sherwood Forest at midnight.
As deep into the evening as campground reveling and Electric Forest performances continue through the five days that festivalgoers occupy the sprawling Double JJ Resort in Rothbury, a surprising number of attendees roll out of bed — and their hammocks — early for group yoga in front of the Tripolee Stage.

Ok, early means noon, but still.
Others simply choose to experience the sun-splashed wonders of Sherwood Forest.
And like a cheery Dr. Jekyll and groovy Mr. Hyde, the vibe changes dramatically at night, with the rainbow-colored lights and lasers of the evening — not to mention bobbing totems of every shape and shade — adding a festive, party-till-you-drop milieu to what’s known to most of the 45,000 or so attendees as just “The Forest.”
That contrast is reflected in the video below by Local Spins’ Ricky Olmos.
