They did it to the tune of 1,100 strong Friday night for a Thanksgiving weekend celebration of three mega-popular West Michigan bands from the ’90s: Domestic Problems, The Verve Pipe and Papa Vegas.
And to their credit, these rockers are still delivering rollicking stage shows (and creating some new music) to the extreme delight of a happy fan base that traveled from as far away as Detroit, Kalamazoo and Traverse City.
“Awesome,” Brian Vander Ark, frontman for The Verve Pipe, said after this year’s edition of the band’s holiday show.
“We had a blast,” said Andy Holtgreive of Domestic Problems. “Seriously, great energy from the crowd. We have a lot to be thankful for.”
As Local Spins photographer Anthony Norkus put it, the jam-packed event oozed “really good vibes.” Check out his photos here.
Earlier on Friday, Holtgreive was the in-studio guest for Local Spins on WYCE, performing a song and helping host John Sinkevics spin some classic tunes from Michigan bands who were popular in the ’90s. Listen to the podcast below, with new tracks from current bands Jake Kalmink & Further Closer, The Soul Syndicate and Michigander.
