• Pokey LaFarge playing the Acoustic Cafe Folk Series at St. Cecilia Music Center on Thursday.
• The 18th annual Jammie Awards on Friday at The Intersection with 25 acts playing two stages.
• The Verve Pipe, Papa Vegas and Chris Andrus playing 20 Monroe Live in Grand Rapids on Friday night.
But there was more, with Cloud Nothings and Moon Brothers kicking off the week at Calvin College’s Covenant Fine Arts Center, followed by Dirty Heads, The Outer Vibe and Stylee Dub lighting up 20 Monroe Live on Thursday, the same night that Watching for Foxes, Cold Mountain Child and Megan Dooley created their folk-hued magic at Bell’s Brewery Eccentric Cafe.
Bell’s followed that on Saturday with the WIDR Battle of the Bands, with alt-rock/punk band Nothing New winning the grand prize in a show that also featured Celtic music ensemble Blarney Castle and dream pop group PARTS.
Saturday night also boasted Alexander Lynch, Humons, Kid Runner and Rebel Kuzco firing up The Pyramid Scheme, and the Public Access supergroup performing a late-night set at Founders Brewing Co. in Grand Rapids. Check out all the photo galleries here.
