Yee yee, indeed.
That exclamation of excitement – and the rallying cry of sorts for country singer Granger Smith/Earl Dibbles Jr. – could have served as the unofficial theme for the opening day of the 24th B93 Birthday Bash on Saturday at U.S. 131 Motorsports Park in Martin.
Although the overall crowd size on Saturday was down for the country celebration hosted by Grand Rapids radio station B93, perhaps due to the 90-degree weather, the performances pumped up a gleeful and colorful crowd which came early and stayed late to catch Chris Young, Chris Janson, Brothers Osborne, Granger Smith and Brandy Clark.
The two-day festival continued Sunday – with more hot weather in the forecast – with Cole Swindell, West Michigan’s own Frankie Ballard and Gunnar & The Grizzly Boys, Old Dominion and Kelsea Ballerini.
Not surprisingly, “Yee Yee” signs were everywhere on Saturday, as you can see in this gallery of images by photographer Eric Stoike, courtesy of B93.
